Register With Cavan PPN

Who Can Join Cavan PPN?

All groups and organisations operating in County Cavan that meet the following criteria:

  • Are active and have a postal address in County Cavan.

  • Operate on a not-for profit basis.

  • Are volunteer-led (organisations may have paid staff, but must be under voluntary control).

  • Are independent (this includes local and regional branches of national organisations).

  • Have at least 3 members and are open to new members.

  • Have an appropriate governance structure, for example, a set of rules / constitution / financial procedures.

  • Meet regularly and hold Annual General Meetings (AGM's).

  • Are in existence for at least six months.

  • Adhere to fundamental human rights.

 
Examples include, but are not limited to, Youth Groups, Active Age Groups, Tidy Towns, Tourism Interest Groups, Social Support Groups, Family Resource Centre’s, Sports Groups, Environmental Groups, Disability Groups, Community Development, Resident Associations, Arts and Culture, Heritage, Wildlife and many more.


Benefits Of Joining Cavan PPN

  • Access to relevant information on funding and grants at a local, national, and European level.

  • ​The opportunity to nominate and/or elect members to sit on a Board or Committee on behalf of the PPN (for example, Cavan County Council’s Strategic Policy Committees).

  • The opportunity to be part of a Linkage Group for a Board or Committee of interest and be able to have your group’s views heard and contribute to local policy and decision making.

  • Access to information on decisions and proposals (consultations) being made in your group’s area and the ability to input into them, along with other PPN member groups.

  • Weekly information which highlights and promotes the activities of the member groups, as well as the work of the PPN, through the Cavan PPN online newsletter and social media platforms.

  • Access to capacity building and training opportunities which will support groups in their development.

  • Opportunities to network with and learn from other organisations in County Cavan who may be involved in similar types of activities or projects.

  • Be part of a collective voice.  Have a say in how County Cavan is being developed for present and future generations.

This is the first time in Irish history that the Community & Voluntary Sector has been given the right to sit at the decision-making table by law.  So, let’s be sure to use it.
